The Quest to find the perfect body scrub ;; The Adventure Begins!

While not the product I bought, it's the closest thing I could find on the GuyDeOn website.

So, I finally tried out that body scrub I picked up yesterday while Christmas shopping. And I hate to say it, but I was disappointed again.

The GuyDeOn Dead Sea Body Scrub in Green Soft smells like a citrus-y dream, and so I was super excited to use it. However, the liquid all sat on the top, and the salt came out very watery, and hard to use. In fact, half of it, as I was applying it to my legs, ended up on the tub floor. Basically, all I have left is half a jar of salt scrub and a ton of the oils that was supposed to mix in with it - which it didn't, hard as I tried.

When I washed it off, I was left with a really gross, greasy film on my skin, but once that washed off, my legs and arms were baby smooth. Washing it off was a problem, though, as it took forever to remove the greasy layer it left, and I almost resorted to my dad's soap.

Since I got it at TJ Maxx, and it was less than half the price they're asking for their newer products on the website, I can't complain. It was a steal, and I do love a good bargain.

And so, my hunt continues -- today, as I ran out of a few things (yay larger empties post!) -- for a body scrub that meets my liking.

I picked this little thing up while at TJMaxx. Say hello to GuyDeOn Dead Sea Body Scrub. I'm going to try this product out either tomorrow or Tuesday, so look for a review coming soon. I'm super excited to try this, as all of the body scrubs I've used in the past were cheap dollar store type deals. So far, all I know is it smells pretty darn good, and that it isn't available on the website anymore.

Unfortunately, on all of my Christmas lists, I had to put down priorities -- money for car repairs and new tires, and money towards a new laptop. I did, however, circle a few of these in a couple of magazines, as well as a couple of Avon products (my grandmother kind of swears by Avon so hey, take what you get, right?), so I'm hoping I get a few nice beauty products. If not, my birthday is always the following month!

November Empties

Once again, no pictures -- sadly -- belong to me. Compliments of Google!

So, I see a lot of Empties posts on the beauty blogs I check religiously, and thought 'hey, that's a nifty idea'. It's always nice to see people use what they buy, what they think of it, etc. so I figured I'd do the same!I have a lot of products to get rid of (I get a lot for Christmas, my birthday, random gifts, whimsy purchases), and since I'm coming back onto the beauty scene for the first time since high school, I figured it's time to go out with the old and in with the new.

Onsen with Shichi Complex Daytime Bliss

Now, I don't have the complete kit, just the lotion. I discovered this lotion while packing for the move from Fort Wayne to Columbus. While I can't say it's my favorite lotion -- it feels clingy and suffocating at first, and doesn't smell like peppermint and eucalyptus at all! -- it did the job, and provided me with moisture all through the day and night.

Caswell-Massey Almond & Aloe Hand and Body Emulsion

Another little sample I found in the move. I love, love, love this product! It's super hydrating, and has a great smell that lasts for a long time. It's a shame the bottle we had was only 1flOz, and half empty. I would have been using it as my daily moisturizer instead of just for my hands.

Curel Natural Healing Soothing Moisture Lotion for Dry Skin

Okay, so I've had this lotion for a good four years maybe, and it's only travel size. Truthfully, it wasn't my favorite. It was too watery to begin with, and didn't really give me the moisture I needed during show choir season (and if you know anything about show choir, you know we're traveling every weekend, using so much product it hurts, and generally destroying our hair and skin).

Crest Pro-Health Complete in Fresh Mint

I wasn't big on mouthwash -- or dental health at all, sad to say -- before I moved in with my dad. We picked this up, thinking 'oh good, something that WON'T burn when using it', but perhaps the burn is a good thing. This stuff tastes like soap, pure and simple, with maybe a HINT of mint. It doesn't leave your mouth fresh for very long, and everything we had to eat throughout the day actually tasted like soap as well.

Bath&Body Works Moonlight Path

Well, since this is going to be in my November Product Empties post as soon as I get access to the camera AND the SD card is removed from my computer, I figured I should review it, since I didn't get to post last night. Sorry, I was setting up the Christmas tree!

Here it is, Moonlight Path. A very floral scent. In fact, at first sniff, it was a bit TOO floral for me. I prefer fruity scents. But it was a gift, and it quickly grew on me.

In the shower, it produces a rich lather, something I adore. It's to the point if I wanted to, I could make a bubble beard! Dorky, I know, but who doesn't like pretending they're Gandalf in the shower.

The downside is that the scent doesn't linger long, and once I step out of the shower, it all but disappears. This is the first B&BW product I've had that didn't last, so I can't help but be disappointed.
